Our mission for our children's ministry is to teach the next generation so they will know and treasure Christ.  We desire to see lives transformed by Jesus and for children to become committed followers of Him.  We believe this will happen as we prayerfully and faithfully teach children God's Word and lovingly proclaim the gospel.

"We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, His power, and the wonders He has done."

Psalm 78:4b

9:00 - 9:45 a.m.

We use The Gospel Project curriculum in our nursery, preschool and school-aged programs.  Additionally, we are offering The Gospel Project in our student ministry as well as in one of our adult classes.  By having parents, students and preschoolers all synced to the same curriculum, parents are better equipped to have gospel-centered conversations on the drive home from church and throughout the week. 😃. Parents of NextGen Kids, please take a minute to review the activity sheets with your children as they have additional resource suggestions in the margin.

Sunday School offerings by age (birth - 4th grades)

  • NextGen Preschool 2 - 3 year olds*

*The 2 - 3 year olds have their own class for Sunday School.  Then, at 9:45 the 2 year olds are taken to NextGen Nursery and the 3 year olds are moved into the 4 - K class.

9:45 - 11:15 a.m.

Extended Care (birth - K)

We offer Extended Care for birth through Kindergarten.  For those coming for the Worship Gathering from 10 - 11:15 a.m., the Extended Care classes break down as follows:

  • NextGen Nursery (Birth - up to 36 months)
  • NextGen Preschool 3 - K's Class

NextGen Kids - 1st - 4th Grades

After Sunday School, the 1st - 4th graders are released to attend the song portion of the worship service with their parents.  Then, the children are invited to attend NextGen Kids Church, which is offered every Sunday except when we celebrate the Lord's Supper together as a church family. Children are certainly welcome to remain in the sanctuary during the sermon each week.

NextGen Kids Church

NextGen Kids Church is an interactive time where the kids are able to talk and move and be taught God's Word on their level.  Our 1st - 4th graders are learning the attributes of God using "The ABC's of God" curriculum and working on memorizing scripture each week.  When you pick your child up from NGKC, ask them what attribute of God and what verse they learned in Kids Church!

Parents, please pick your children up from NextGen Kids Church and Extended Care immediately after the sermon and then visit.  Our volunteers appreciate it very much!😃

Health and Safety Matters

All volunteers are screened and temperature-checked.  Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the area.  Children are welcome to wear masks but are not required to do so. Areas will be cleaned and sanitized before children enter and after they leave. All toys are sanitized with bleach or Lysol at the end of the morning.

*All children need to be checked in at the NextGen Kids Check-in Station and be temperature-checked before entering the children's area.

NGK Wednesdays!

Wednesday EVENINGS

6:00-7:30 p.m.

As our NextGen Kids Mission Statement reads, teaching the next generation of kids so they will know and treasure Christ is at the center of everything we do at PGFirst!  Fundamental to accomplishing this Mission is teaching kids the good news about Jesus in God's Word.

NGK Wednesdays is a gospel-centered, mission-focused time where the kids will have fun learning the gospel and being trained in the scriptures to share the gospel with others.  We will also be learning about famous missionaries of the past who have turned the world upside-down for Jesus.  A sack supper will be provided each week for the preschool and school-aged children, consisting of a sandwich, bag of chips and a piece of fruit.

We will offer nursery (ages birth-36 months) for moms involved in the Armor of God Bible study.  We will also offer a class for preschool (ages 3-Kindergarten) and a class for school-aged kids (1st-4th grades).  We welcome the school-aged children to bring their friends!

Blast! Camp

We are going to Camp Siloam Children's Only Week - Week One

May 31 - June 4, 2021

Cost $269

This summer we will hear the story of Gideon told in a western setting.  The Biblical theme is "With God"; a concept coming out of Gideon's story.  The Lord loves to use all kinds of people to do His work and this summer we will see that in many ways through Gideon's story.

Special Guest Speaker, Mike Seabaugh, will be teaching this first week and is one of the main reasons we chose this week to attend because he is tremendous!  His method of storytelling and bring the gospel to children is very effective and the weeks he is at Camp Siloam are very quick to fill up and sell out!  Each year Mike brings a mix of theatrical camp favorites such as Carmen San Diego, sprinkled with his imaginative presentation of Bible stories.  Mike definitely has a gift for capturing the attention of kids and those who are kids at heart.

Children who have completed 2nd grade - completed 4th grade can attend.

We will load up on Monday, May 31st at 11:30 a.m. from the church parking lot and return on Friday, June 4th at 11:00 a.m.

Registration is required and the deadline to register is Wednesday, May 19th.  A $75 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of registration and final payment is due by Monday, May 24th.  Scholarships are available upon request.  Please call or email Karen directly at 479-466-2853 or khays@pgfirst.com.
